HUMAN ACCESS implemented awareness-raising activities in Hadramout and Marib governorates to mark Breast Cancer Awareness Month (“Pink October”), benefiting 1,736 women and girls. This initiative was carried out under the project “Providing Livelihood Services for the Most Vulnerable Women and Girls in Yemen,” funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

In Mukalla, Hadramout, the activities targeted 1,723 women and girls to raise their health awareness regarding breast cancer and rectify prevailing misconceptions. Survivors of the disease were also provided with a dedicated space for mental support, alongside the distribution of commemorative medals and free medical check-ups conducted by a specialized team within the Safe Space.

Awareness efforts extended to cover displacement camps in Marib. In the Al-Rawdah area and Al-Mail camps, a focused counseling and practical session titled “Early Diagnosis..Hope and Life” was held for 13 women and girls, focusing on promoting a culture of self-prevention and emphasizing the importance of health programmes for early diagnosis during the initial stages to ensure the protection of women and girls.
