HUMAN ACCESS in Hadhramaut Governorate implemented an awareness session in Mukalla city to confront the harmful phenomenon of female genital mutilation (FGM).
It is the first awareness session for this year 2024 within the project to combat FGM, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
In the awareness session, community activists and women's committees were mobilized to fight sexual mutilation of girls, a practice that has long-term negative physical, psychological, and social consequences, and is a violation of women's basic human rights.
Furthermore, these activities emphasize the importance of raising community awareness regarding female genital mutilation in order to end this crime forever.
