The Youth Friendly Space in Mukalla city, Hadhramaut Governorate, signed agreements with the local Mukalla channel and YouTubers to publish awareness-raising materials about the negative effects of female genital mutilation (FGM).
This project falls under the umbrella of the FGM prevention project, which is being implemented by HUMAN ACCESS with funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The Youth Friendly Space has previously signed an agreement with the local digital radio station, Ru’ya, as part of its media plan.
This plan is intended to raise societal awareness of female sexual mutilation, since it is the worst damaging practice against females and threatens their health over the long term on the physical, psychological, and social levels.
