HUMAN ACCESS in Shabwa and Marib governorates implemented various activities within the “Safe Space for Women and Girls” protection and livelihood support project, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), as part of a comprehensive response to address the impact of Yemen’s crisis on women.

In Ataq city in Shabwa, the safe space conducted an awareness session that addressed women’s personal rights, including their right to document the marriage contract and the importance of obtaining these rights, as part of ongoing efforts to raise awareness of the rights of women and girls, ensure that they obtain their legitimate rights, and provide them with comprehensive protection.

In Marib, the safe space in Al-Mujamma area organized community awareness sessions on gender-based violence as a global crisis and a human rights issue.

Psychological support sessions on psychological security were also carried out, in the presence of 25 women in the Minin camp for displaced people.

Visits to beneficiaries were also made in order to verify some of the targets for vocational rehabilitation over the course of the following year.

A focus group discussion was also organized regarding the market analysis and professional inclinations of female applicants for vocational training in order to motivate them to acquire craft skills and provide them with safe work opportunities.

In Al-Wadi District, the safe space visited a displaced family affected by a fire. As part of the visit, the family's condition was assessed in order to provide shelter materials and transport the injured to receive treatment. Such interventions are urgent and necessary to ensure that those affected maintain their health and dignity.

During the safe space's involvement with Al-Jufaina area, three awareness sessions were conducted, one focusing on small projects and their importance in the community, and the other on women and entrepreneurship, targeting 28 displaced women.

In the third session, 15 women were presented with legal information about the importance of obtaining identification cards in public life, given the importance of such documents.

Furthermore, the space implemented three psychological support sessions. The first targeted 28 displaced women on capacity building, self-development, and joining the labor market.

The second session centered on mental health, with 14 women attending, while the third one presented advice on how to lead a happy married life, with 15 visitors to the safe space for women and girls.
