To empower women and enhance their role in society, HUMAN ACCESS in Hadhramaut and Marib governorates organized a number of important activities within the context of the protection and livelihood support project “Safe Space for Women and Girls,” funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).

The safe space in Seiyun city in Wadi Hadhramaut conducted a community awareness program about the significance of women's work, since they make up half of society, half of human wealth, and half of national ambitions and capabilities.

As part of the awareness session, attendees were given the opportunity to participate in interventions and discussions for their own benefit and enrichment.

In Marib, the safe space in Al-Mujamma area organized a sewing and embroidery training program for 15 beneficiaries, aimed at empowering beneficiaries with the skills necessary of this income-generating craft profession as one of the sustainable solutions to daily difficulties, with the objective of increasing their capacity to withstand humanitarian challenges and needs.

This year, the safe spaces in Wadi Marib and Al-Jufaina areas conducted two focus group discussions to analyze the market and determine the professional preparations and preferences of female candidates for vocational training in safe spaces, as well as assessing previous opportunities and successes to ensure the success of economic projects and achievement of project objectives.

The safe space in Al-Matar area held the first meeting of the working group to improve services and performance. It also implemented group psychological support entitled “Psychological Satisfaction and Child Care,” in the presence of 13 women.

Moreover, three community awareness sessions were held, the first one on the importance of girls' education and women's rehabilitation, which was attended by 15 women, the second on safe space services and registration mechanisms, attended by 10 women, and the third on vaccinations for children to protect them from diseases.
