In partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), HUMAN ACCESS in Hadhramaut and Marib governorates continues to implement various targeted activities on the occasion of the 16-day campaign to combat gender-based violence, within the protection and livelihood support project, “Safe Space for Women and Girls.”
Since economic empowerment plays a crucial role in addressing violence against women and girls, the safe space in Seiyun city of Wadi Hadhramaut offered henna engraving training to 15 women from the most vulnerable and needy groups in order to equip them with the skills necessary for this income-generating craft, so that they could rebuild their lives in a safe and decent environment.
At Al-Fateh Girls School in Marib, the safe space in Al-Wadi district held a school radio event, where the radio broadcast various segments aimed at combating violence against women.
A free medical clinic was also launched to provide a wide range of basic health services and alleviate the suffering of women, girls, and children, who find it difficult to access hospitals and medical facilities to receive health services.
The safe space in Al-Jufaina carried out legal awareness about the right to education, with 25 women participating, considering that education is an effective weapon against violence and is guaranteed by all national laws.
Additionally, a free medical clinic was launched with a specialized medical staff to examine and treat many medical cases and disseminate health education to 25 beneficiaries about maternal and child care.
In the presence of 25 women, the space in Al-Jufaina also held a session on psychological support and its relationship to sustainable development.
Furthermore, school radio programs were implemented separately in two public schools to raise awareness about the importance of eliminating violence against women, the most widespread and devastating human rights violation, and to encourage investment in women's and girls' rights.
The safe space in Al-Jufaina organized a workshop addressing the causes of gender-based violence and ways to eliminate it.
In this regard, the safe space in Al-Mujamma area performed a school radio program at Belqis Secondary School for Girls, targeting approximately 1,000 students, to introduce the 16-day campaign to combat gender-based violence and to warn against the negative consequences of anti-women violence on societies and countries.
