In continuation of the 16-day campaign to combat gender-based violence, HUMAN ACCESS in the governorates of Hadhramaut, Shabwa and Marib continued to implement various activities and events within the framework of the protection and livelihood support project "Safe Space for Women and Girls", funded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

In this regard, the project promoted health awareness about AIDS on World AIDS Day, which occurs on the first of December each year, with the intention of preventing and limiting the spread of the disease.

Health awareness targeted some disciplines at Seiyun University in Wadi Hadhramaut and students of the College of Girls at Hadhramaut University in Mukalla.

As part of its awareness session, the safe space in Ataq, Shabwa, addressed 1,400 students from Belqis School for Girls with the theme "Protect her rights". The session introduced the 16-day campaign against gender-based violence, as well as the importance of spreading awareness of women's rights, since improving the status of women and advancing their rights benefits entire societies.

In an act of appreciation and gratitude, Wadi Marib's safe space for women and girls honored a group of pioneering women in society for their efforts in supporting the protection project, livelihood and women's issues in the area.

A radio interview was organized by the space in Marib on World AIDS Day, while an awareness session about the disease was held in Al-Mujamma area.

In Al-Jufaina camp, the safe space organized the fourth quarterly meeting of community-based committees to discuss the role assigned to them in combating violence against women.

The space also organized the fourth quarterly community peer network meeting and an AIDS awareness session.

Furthermore, a vocational training program was developed by the space with the participation of 12 beneficiaries in the field of embroidering hoops, making themes, and organizing parties, in order to qualify the beneficiaries to become professionals in these occupations and to create a source of income.
