On the eighth of March, the world celebrates International Women's Day in appreciation and respect for woman’s efforts and achievements in all fields as a decision-maker and leader, and that she has the right to contribute positively to the development of her country, and to affirm her commitment to continuing the struggle for women's rights and empowerment.

As thus, a group of pioneering women who help protect women's rights are often honored.

HUMAN ACCESS has joined the international community in celebrating International Women's Day in an effort to draw attention to women's issues and rights and warn of the danger of depriving women and girls of their rights.

On this occasion, the association carried out several activities in the governorates of Hadhramaut, Shabwa and Marib, as part of the activities of the protection and livelihood support project "Safe Space for Women and Girls", funded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).

In Hadhramaut, the safe space in the city of Mukalla carried out an awareness lecture about women and their significant role in the family and society, in the presence of 25 beneficiaries.

In Seiyun, the safe space organized an awareness session under the title "The importance of women's work", with the participation of more than 18 female beneficiaries from the workers of My Career in My Hands Center for Widows and Divorced Women. The session addressed the work benefits for women and societies.

Three beneficiaries of rehabilitation and economic empowerment services were hosted by the safe space in Ataq, Shabwa, during an open day for women and girls, in which they shared their experiences, stories, and triumphs in the labor market and obtaining a source of income.

For a number of visitors to the safe space, awareness sessions were held under the slogan "Honoring her is honoring your family," emphasizing the importance of preserving women's dignity and rights.

In Marib, the safe space in Al-Jufaina area honored a number of female workers within its team, in recognition of their pioneering and dedicated role in serving women. It also honored leading female educators for their significant role in advocating women and girls' issues.

The safe space, moreover, organized a human rights symposium on women's rights as an integral part of human rights, in addition to participating in a speech ceremony to honor working women organized by the local authorities.

In Al-Mujamma area, the safe space honored a number of female humanitarian workers for their efforts in community service, and organized a radio interview via Radio Marib FM to introduce International Women's Day and the importance of this global occasion.
