HUMAN ACCESS in Hadhramaut and Marib governorates implemented a wide range of activities within the “Safe Space for Women and Girls” protection and livelihood support project, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), to expand the scope of Yemeni women’s rights and enhance their role in public life.

A life, marketing and financial skills course was organized by the safe space in Seiyun city in Wadi Hadhramaut during the first quarter of this year for females who were part of a hairdressing and tailoring vocational training program.

By providing them with basic life, marketing, and financial skills, the beneficiaries will be prepared to enter the labor market and start their own businesses.

A training program for the safe spaces work team in Marib for the current year has been launched to build their skills in the areas of protection and gender issues, with the goal of developing and improving performance while paying attention to the staff and boosting their level to fulfill their mission as fully as possible.

In Al-Rawda area and Al-Mil camps, the safe space carried out recreational and awareness-raising activities for children in displacement camps, to put a smile on the faces of the most disadvantaged children.

Additionally, to ensure the success of the project’s interventions, focus discussion sessions related to vocational choice and market analysis was conducted in Al-Suwayda camp, with the participation of 22 women.

In Al-Jufaina area, the safe space conducted a field visit to verify eligibility criteria for female applicants for livelihood courses, in preparation for training them and providing them with employment opportunities.

Moreover, two awareness sessions were carried out, the first a community awareness session on the importance of setting a goal in life and striving to achieve it, while the second addressed women’s rights, in the presence of 20 women.

Furthermore, the space hosted three psychological support sessions, the first on strengthening the connection with the Creator and psychological satisfaction, for nine women, while the second on preparing for exams using planning skills, for 70 female students.

The third session was entitled “Psychological Flexibility”, in the presence of 16 women, to help them gain self-confidence and support others.
