A variety of activities were carried out by HUMAN ACCESS in Hadhramaut, Shabwa, Al-Mahra and Marib under the protection and livelihood support project “Safe Space for Women and Girls” funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in order to stand with women and to demonstrate a commitment to supporting their needs and rights, especially during times of crises.

Community committees and peer networks were invited to a meeting held by the safe space in Seiyun city, Wadi Hadhramaut, to assess the progress of previous events and activities and to find out how well they were received, as well as to discuss the activities to be conducted during the next stage, how they will be developed and presented attractively.

In Ataq city, Shabwa, the space carried out an entertainment activity for children, which included several sections and competitions.

As a direct response to the multiple needs of conflict-affected children, and in support of their basic rights to learn, play, and live without fear, the children expressed their joy and feelings during this activity.

In Al-Ghaydah city, Al-Mahra, the safe space held a periodic meeting of the members of the protection network for the third quarter of this year, in the presence of the HUMAN ACCESS leaders in the governorate. The members of the network discussed many opinions and proposals during the meeting to ensure the human rights of women and girls.

In Marib, the safe space carried out two vocational courses in Al-Mujamma area, the first in the field of sewing and tailoring, targeting 14 women, and the second in the field of sweets and pastries, targeting 16 trainees.

The objective of this program is to equip the trainees with vocational skills that qualify them to engage in the labor market, earn a living, achieve their aspirations, and chart their life path.

In Al-Matar area, the safe space held the third quarterly meeting of the community protection committees, which discussed a number of issues being worked on within the plan.

In addition, the third quarterly meeting of the community peer network took place, where the group discussed strategies to mobilize and advocate for women's issues and ensure their basic freedoms.

In Marib Al-Wadi, the safe space concluded a training course in the field of sewing, targeting 13 trainees to improve their access to job opportunities and enhance their resilience.

The safe space also carried out a field visit to verify, follow-up and monitor success stories in a number of areas, which confirm the great positive impact of the protection and livelihood support project.
