
HUMAN ACCESS implemented a number of targeted activities within the framework of the project "Providing Livelihood Services for the Most Vulnerable Women and Girls in Yemen," funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The activities aim to address the growing threats to women's advancement and ensure their full and effective participation in all aspects of life.
In Aden Governorate, a dialogue session was held under the theme "Moving Forward Together: Women Educate and Inspire Generations." Twenty-five women attended the session, marking International Women's Day, which falls on March 8th of each year.
The dialogue session addressed the challenges facing women in the local community and ways to overcome them, emphasizing the need to support the rights and empowerment of all women and girls.
In Marib Governorate, the International Women's Day activities concluded in Al-Wadi District, with the attendance of Ms. Sa'ada Aqar, Chair of the National Women's Committee in the Governorate, and Ms. Soqatra Al-Baqma, Director of the Women and Children Department at the Social Affairs and Labor Office.
The three-day activities included community awareness-raising, distribution of brochures and educational themes supporting women's issues, field visits to a number of women in displacement camps, and the delivery of dignity kits to targeted women.
The activities also involved a focus group discussion targeting 10 women human rights activists and influential figures in the community. The session discussed the role of women and the promotion of their rights.
Additionally, 14 women pioneers of humanitarian work in Wadi Marib, active women in community committees, and pioneers in economic empowerment projects were honored.
Other activities were also conducted to educate the public about women's issues and promote the defense and advancement of the rights of all women and girls.
In Al-Mujamma area, a focus group discussion was held on livelihood training for women and girls and an analysis of market needs, attended by 17 women.
In Al-Rawdah area and Al-Mil camps, a focus group discussion was organized for 15 beneficiaries of the dignity kits.
The discussions focused on the quality of the kits, their importance, the distribution mechanism, and other related issues. The objective was to gain the beneficiaries' opinions and leverage them to improve the lives of Yemen's most vulnerable women and girls.
