HUMAN ACCESS in Hadhramaut Governorate organized two activities in Mukalla city to raise public awareness about the harmful phenomenon of female genital mutilation (FGM), as a form of violence against women and girls, under the umbrella of the project to combat FGM, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The third open day in this regard was organized with the participation of many young people and representatives of educational facilities and youth forums, and included creative participation, cultural activities, and sports.
Additionally, a consultative meeting was organized for preachers and religious scholars, attended by Ahmed Ali Al-Saadi, Director General of the Ministry of Endowments & Guidance office in Mukalla, to discuss sexual mutilation of girls as an illegal practice that has nothing to do with religion.
