A team from the project to combat female genital mutilations (FGM), in Seiyun city, visited the office of the Ministry of Human Rights in Wadi Hadhramaut to introduce the project and its awareness-raising activities to address the FGM phenomenon and the importance of everyone’s cooperation to eliminate it.

During the visit, Omar Awad Al Amiri, Director General of the Human Rights office in Wadi Hadhramaut, praised the significant efforts made by HUMAN ACCESS, stressing the importance of the project to confront such harmful practices that represent a violation of the fundamental human rights of girls and women.

HUMAN ACCESS In Hadhramaut Governorate is currently implementing a project to combat FGM with funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), to educate the public of the dangers of sexual mutilation of girls as a wrong phenomenon rooted in some social norms and represents a form of violence against women.
