As part of the protection and livelihood support project “Safe Space for Women and Girls” funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), HUMAN ACCESS in the governorates of Shabwa and Marib executed a number of vital activities to support women’s right to work and provide the necessary assistance to become more adaptive and achieve self-reliance, in addition to raising their awareness and improve their ability to build a prosperous life.

In the city of Ataq in Shabwa, the Safe Space launched vocational rehabilitation programs for the third quarter of this year with a training course in the field of sweets and pastries for 13 beneficiaries who are in dire need of that, with the goal to equip them with the necessary skills and knowledge in this profession in preparation for their economic empowerment and assist them to earn a living and participate in local economies.

In Marib, the safe space in Al-Jufaina organized a group psychological support session for 12 women on psychological trauma and how to overcome it.

It also carried out four awareness sessions, the first targeting 15 women about raising children, problems and solutions, and the second dealing with displacement problems and how to cope with the displacement situation.

As for the third session, it targeted 9 visitors to the space and focused on problem-solving skills, while the fourth session was entitled "Decision Making", with the attendance of 10 women.

In Al-Matar area, the Safe Space launched a ten-day professional course in the field of tire embroidery as a qualitative training course targeting 12 beneficiaries, to equip the trainees with skills in this craft profession required in the labor market.

The safe space also held field visits to assess and select female candidates for economic empowerment grants and identify their ability to benefit from these grants and achieve their goals.
