HUMAN ACCESS in Shabwa and Marib governorates carried out awareness-raising activities within the protection and livelihood support project "Safe Space for Women and Girls" funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in an effort to raise women's awareness of a group of important issues and to ensure their access to their legitimate rights.

To achieve this goal, the safe space in Ataq, Shabwa, organized a series of awareness sessions, the first entitled "Education and its importance for girls", which targeted a number of women during field visits to the city's neighborhoods.

The second was a group psychological support session to help women cope with psychological anxiety, whereas the third was a legal awareness session about women's rights in Islam.

In Marib, the safe space in Al-Mujamma area carried out two group psychological support sessions, the first for 120 high school students at Bilqis School on concentration and educational attainment, while the second session was for 25 women who visited and benefited from the safe space under the title "How to deal with psychological stress". 

The safe space in Al-Mujamma also conducted a field visit to verify a number of beneficiaries and their ability and desire to obtain services.

It, in addition, carried out two awareness sessions, the first related to the rights of women in Islam and the importance of obtaining identification documents, while the second session focused on violence against women, targeting a number of visitors to the safe space.

Furthermore, there were awareness sessions organized by the safe space in Al-Matar area, the first one was psychological for visitors to the safe space about anxiety, its causes, and effective methods of treatment, while the second awareness session focused on the negative effects of early marriage, whereas the third session discussed gender-based violence and its impact on families and local communities.
