On the occasion of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities, which is celebrated on December 3 of each year, HUMAN ACCESS in Hadhramaut and Marib governorates organized a number of activities within the protection and livelihood support project activities "Safe Space for Women and Girls", financed by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
In this regard, a training course was organized, entitled "Mental and behavioral disorders in children with special needs and how to deal with them", targeting teachers of autism centers and people with special needs in Al-Shihr district of Hadhramaut, in collaboration with the Ambition Rising Association for the rehabilitation of people with special needs in the district.
This course was designed to equip teachers with the psychological skills necessary to provide quality services to this group.
A safe space for women and girls in Mukalla visited the Hadhramaut Foundation for Autism's rehabilitation departments for children with autism and learning difficulties and engaged in motor and recreational activities under supervision of supervisors of the two departments.
The visit also included the distribution of symbolic incentive gifts to promote the rights of persons with disabilities in every aspect of life as a source of strength in helping to rebuild societies.
