Ms. Samar Al‑Sabahi, Child Protection Officer at the United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) office in Yemen, visited the Center for Training and Rehabilitation of Girls through a Pioneering Approach, managed by HUMAN ACCESS in Mukalla City, Hadramout Governorate.

During the visit, Ms. Al‑Sabahi reviewed the progress of activities implemented under Phase II of the UNICEF‑funded project “Protecting and Empowering Girls through a Pioneering Approach.” The project aims to equip adolescent girls with essential skills for empowerment and gender‑responsive education.

She also met with 54 female beneficiaries participating in training courses in sewing and hairdressing, designed to enable them to enter the labor market and launch their own small businesses, thereby improving their livelihoods amidst growing humanitarian needs and challenges.

At the end of her visit, Ms. Al‑Sabahi praised the efforts made as part of a comprehensive response to the needs of young girls, particularly those from marginalized groups. She emphasized the importance of equipping them with life skills and inclusive education, building their capacities, and protecting them from harmful practices.
