During the month of August, HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate implemented a number of important and targeted activities in Al-Jufaina Camp, the largest IDP camp in Yemen.
Women's advancement and protection of their rights are the key objectives of the project "Providing Livelihood Services for the Most Vulnerable Women and Girls in Yemen," funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
The activities included the distribution of dignity kits to 208 pregnant women, girls, widows, and the elderly, the launch of two training courses in sewing, tailoring, and confectionery/ pastries for 18 women, and the implementation of eight community awareness sessions that addressed several important issues, such as the roles of women in society, the steps to success, and the factors that empower women.
Seventy-one women benefited from legal advice, 11 women received identity documents, and 300 women benefited from group psychological support sessions, which addressed a range of issues, including psychological resilience, balancing responsibilities and social roles, and recovering from psychological pain and trauma.
Other activities were also executed such as receiving cases and referrals, as well as children's activities designed to promote social upbringing and protection.
