HUMAN ACCESS implemented a series of targeted activities in Al- Rawdah area and Al-Mil camps for IDPs in Marib Governorate. These activities were part of the project "Providing Livelihood Services to the Most Vulnerable Women and Girls in Yemen," funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), to enhance resilience and protect the human rights of Yemeni women.
The implemented activities included providing cash assistance to five women beneficiaries and distributing livelihood grants to six women beneficiaries of vocational training in sewing and hairdressing, in an effort to enhance their access to the labor market and empower them to become self-reliant. The activities also involved monitoring and documenting success stories and managing cases of gender-based violence.
The program also included a life, financial, and marketing skills course for 18 beneficiaries of vocational training in the fields of sewing and hairdressing, preparing them to enter the labor market and start their own businesses. It also included holding quarterly meetings for the work team, community committees, and the peer network to enhance community coordination and monitor performance and development plans.
In addition, the activities included group psychological support sessions for 327 women, to improve their mental health and mitigate the effects of trauma. Community awareness sessions attended by 204 women were also held to raise awareness and educate about women's issues and rights. Recreational activities were furthermore organized for 166 children, both boys and girls, to provide a safe and supportive environment for them amid one of the world's most challenging humanitarian crises.
