To support women in Yemen and ensure they have the resources and protection they need to survive and rebuild their lives, HUMAN ACCESS in Marib governorate launched a wide range of activities within the context of the protection and livelihood support project "Safe Space for Women and Girls", supported by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
In Al-Jufaina area, the safe space held a working group meeting to discuss preparations for effective participation in the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign.
The campaign will start on November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and end on December 10, Human Rights Day.
The safe space in Al-Jufaina also organized a sewing and bag-making training program for 11 women beneficiaries, enabling them to learn this income-generating craft profession and earning a living as a sustainable solution to daily hardships, and thus enhancing their resilience in light of the growing humanitarian needs and challenges.
In Al-Matar area, the safe space held a working group meeting to discuss arrangements for effective participation in the 16 Days of Activism against Gender-Based Violence campaign.
Moreover, there were two awareness sessions held in the safe space, the first focused on marital issues, and the second titled "Improving Livelihoods and Combating Poverty", to highlight family problems and the importance of women having access to resources.
The space also launched two training courses in the fields of sewing, tailoring, and confectionery and pastry making for 22 beneficiaries from the most vulnerable and needy women to enhance their resilience in the face of economic shocks.
Furthermore, 12 women participated in a training program in hairdressing and makeup art, in order to move into the labor market and achieve economic independence.
