Community Center for IDPs in Marib launches its first activities of the 16-day campaign
With the slogan "Unite", HUMAN ACCESS community center for displaced people in Marib Governorate launched a 16-day campaign against gender-based violence in order to raise public awareness of the hardships and challenges women face. The campaign was funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).
Maribland Park witnessed the launch of the first activities of the campaign, in the presence of the UNHCR office team in Marib, where 100 children, accompanied by their mothers, were hosted in an open day for children.
The goal of the initiative is for children to practice their recreational activities in conjunction with awareness-raising activities intended to introduce violence against women as a global phenomenon that exists in all societies.
The 16-day campaign to combat gender-based violence starts from November 25, the International Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women, and continues until December 10, which is Human Rights Day.
The international campaign has been launched every year in order to intensify efforts to eliminate one of the most egregious manifestations of discrimination against women and girls.
