HUMAN ACCESS in Aden Governorate organized an awareness session on cyber-extortion crimes in front of 25 women, with funding from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), in order to increase community awareness about the dangers of this form of gender-based violence and protect women and girls from this widespread phenomenon in our world today.
Attendees were impressed by the importance of the information presented in the awareness-raising campaign.
The workshop presented a definition of electronic blackmail, its dangerous repercussions on women in particular, the family and society, ways to prevent it, and the need to confront this growing phenomenon.
There has been tremendous growth in information technology, and its means have invaded multiple areas of life, with diverse motives that have psychological, social, economic, and security implications.
