With the help of United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), HUMAN ACCESS performed various activities in Hadhramaut and Marib as part of the project "Safe Space for Women and Girls," in order to support women and girls, especially psychologically, as mental illness is one of Yemen's most prevalent health conditions.
In the city of Seiyun in Wadi Hadhramaut, the safe space conducted awareness-raising activities for community committees about psychological stress and its impact on women, to inform beneficiaries of the dangers of psychological stress as well as the importance of overcoming daily pressures to maintain psychological well-being, family stability, and social stability.
The safe space in Al-Matar, Marib, carried out three support and awareness sessions. The first was psychological support about psychologically securing the house, and the second was legal awareness targeted at beneficiaries and visitors to the space regarding the importance of identification documents and how to obtain them, while the third was psychological awareness about self-esteem and building personality.
In Al-Jufaina area, the safe space implemented two community awareness sessions, one focusing on the meanings of Ramadan in accordance with the virtuous ethics of Islam, and the other under the title "Fasting and Psychological Peace" with the intention of supporting family stability in light of the increase in mental disorders in Yemen due to the war and poor living and economic conditions.
