To expand the scope of women’s rights in Yemen and enhance their status in all fields, HUMAN ACCESS in Shabwa and Marib governorates conducted multiple activities within the “Safe Space for Women and Girls” protection and livelihood support project, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief).

In Shabwa, the safe space in Ataq city, in the presence of a number of women and girls, organized two awareness sessions, the first on problem-solving skills, to enhance resilience in light of increasing needs and challenges.

The second session discussed the risks associated with early marriage, to raise awareness about this dangerous social phenomenon and its negative repercussions on girls, families, and communities.

Marib's safe space in Al-Matar area gave out 18 bags to victims of gender-based violence, along with community awareness about the importance of acquiring and developing skills to ensure women's success in their careers.

Two awareness sessions were also held, the first on problem-solving skills, while the second one addressed divorce and its devastating effects, especially on children.

Twenty pregnant women in Al-Jufaina received women's bags with personal hygiene products and other women's tools, as well as psychological support to enhance their mental health during pregnancy.

In the participation of 30 women, the space also carried out two awareness sessions, the first on the social role of women, while the second session focused on the complaints and suggestions box, in addition to offering group psychological support entitled “Mental health and its links to achievement”.
