The HUMAN ACCESS Community Center for IDPs in Marib Governorate received a visiting team from the main office of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), including Arti Siani, the UNHCR assistant protection representative in Yemen, Ms. Gordana Popovic, senior program officer at UNHCR, Peter Fitzmaurice, director of the UNHCR Marib office, and Dr. Lowand Abdulrahman, the assistant protection officer, as well as the rest of the protection team members at the UNHCR office - Marib.
During the visit, the UNHCR team was briefed on the activities of the community center and the services it provides to the most vulnerable groups of the displaced and the host community.
In addition to visiting the center's departments, the delegation listened to its staff discuss the work progress and demand for the center, and the amount of disparity between the services provided and the actual needs, as well as the challenges arising from the difficult humanitarian situation faced by the displaced and host community in Marib, which represents more than 60% of Yemen's displaced population.
Additionally, the UNHCR team visited HUMAN ACCESS' child-friendly space in Al-Suwayda camp, where they learned about its activities aimed at developing children by enabling them to exercise their rights in a child-centered environment.
