Yemen faces a severe protection and humanitarian crisis, exacerbated by the ongoing conflict. The collapse of protection mechanisms has further weakened a large segment of the population, particularly those displaced, refugees, and people with disabilities.

With funding from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), HUMAN ACCESS association contributes to protecting the lives and rights of vulnerable groups through the integrated three-sector project implemented in Marib Governorate, one of the most vulnerable governorates in Yemen, amid a protracted crisis.

From January to September 2025, the association provided many services to protect people’s rights, preserve human dignity, and enhance the community’s resilience, including providing cash assistance to 30 families who were threatened with eviction due to their inability to pay the rent for the house they lived in. This cash assistance contributed to paying the rent and enhancing the sense of psychological and social stability of the beneficiary families.

The integrated project services also included support for obtaining personal identification cards for 2,800 people, to ensure their access to basic services and humanitarian aid. Without these crucial documents, individuals face significant barriers to receiving assistance and accessing opportunities, adding to the challenges they already face.

The services, moreover, included the implementation of 80 community awareness sessions, benefiting 1,000 people in Marib city and Marib district, in order to spread legal awareness and enable vulnerable groups to know their legal rights, protect them from exploitation, enhance their ability to defend themselves, and contribute to achieving social justice.

Additionally, 240 consultations were provided regarding improving tenure, homes, land and property. These consultations are extremely important at this time of peril for the rights of the vulnerable, as people are particularly vulnerable to exploitation during humanitarian crises, and legal advice is urgently needed as a bridge of justice to vulnerable groups.

The integrated three-sector project services reflect a firm commitment to assisting and protecting the most vulnerable and needy families in Yemen, within the framework of ongoing efforts to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals. These vital services are of particular importance to vulnerable population groups in light of one of the world’s most difficult humanitarian crises.
