Under the auspices of the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, and with the participation of several officials, HUMAN ACCESS in Aden Governorate organized a workshop entitled "Building the Capacities of Women-Led Organizations on Advocating for the End of Child Marriage." Sixteen women leaders from various organizations participated in the workshop, which was part of the second phase of the "Protecting and Empowering Girls through a Leadership Approach" project, funded by UNICEF.

The workshop's goal was to enhance the capacities of women-led organizations in advocating for the end of child marriage by developing participants' knowledge and skills in designing and implementing advocacy campaigns, building effective partnerships, influencing policies and decisions, and supporting national efforts to protect girls' rights and reduce harmful practices. This contributes to protecting girls' rights and reducing child marriage at the community level.

At the workshop's opening, Deputy Minister of Social Affairs and Labor, Dr. Sadiq Al-Jumaee, emphasized the importance of strengthening the capacities of women-led organizations as key partners in advocacy and community awareness efforts. He pointed to the need for unified efforts among government agencies, civil society organizations, and partners to achieve a sustainable impact in reducing child marriage. Al-Jumaee called for the continued implementation of capacity-building programs and community initiatives that help protect children and promote their rights.

For his part, Mr. Obia Ashing, UNICEF Deputy Representative for Programs and Acting Representative in Yemen, affirmed support for national efforts to end child marriage and enhance the protection of girls' rights. He stressed the importance of empowering women-led organizations and strengthening their role in advocacy and community change efforts. The UN official commended the prominent role of the HUMAN ACCESS Association, praising its ongoing partnership with UNICEF in implementing humanitarian programs and projects.
