Funded by UNICEF, HUMAN ACCESS in Aden Governorate organized a workshop to discuss and approve awareness-raising media messages against child marriage and female genital mutilation (FGM). This workshop is part of the "Protecting and Empowering Girls Through a Pioneering Approach" project.
With the participation of representatives from eight government agencies and five local organizations, the workshop discussed the content of media messages aimed at raising awareness about the dangers of underage marriage and female genital mutilation.
Numerous observations and suggestions were presented to ensure the effectiveness and impact of the messages on the target groups.
At the conclusion of the workshop, the media messages were approved for adoption and dissemination through various media outlets. This will enhance community awareness of girls' rights and contribute to changing harmful social and gender norms that impact the present and future of girls in Yemen.
