As part of the activities and events of the 16-Day Campaign Against Gender-Based Violence, the psychosocial support center at Al Shahr General Hospital of HUMAN ACCESS in Mukalla, funded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), held a workshop on mental health and gender-based violence.
The workshop, attended by representatives of the local authority and civil society associations and organizations, discussed a number of topics related to the awareness-raising process on the concept of gender-based violence, its types, causes and effects, the main psychological disorders resulting from violence, and methods of prevention and treatment.
The workshop comprised a number of proposals on combating gender-based violence and promoting mental health.
