With funding from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the community center for IDPs of HUMAN ACCESS in United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) carried out various activities, targeting a number of internally displaced persons (IDPs) who struggle to survive in flimsy tents and are among the most vulnerable groups in the Yemeni crisis under tragic conditions.

With this perspective in mind, the community center organized a focus discussion session with 15 participants from 8 camps of Marib city about the suffering of the displaced in camps from the winter cold and the strategies required to alleviate their suffering.

During the meeting, the participants discussed the general situation of the displaced in the camps, the protection gaps due to the low temperatures, and their lack of heating materials and life necessities.

With UNHCR representatives from the Marib office present, the center honored 160 female students and participants in activities and literacy courses at the camps of Al-Quoz, Ali Abdulmughni, Hosh Al-Jamaa, and Al-Faw as part of the protection project, in order to encourage them to continue learning as education plays a valuable role for individuals and society at large.

In addition, the center organized two awareness sessions in Al-Mujamma area, the first targeting 10 women, coinciding with the National Hygiene Day, which falls on December 12 of each year.

While the first session emphasized the importance of hygiene and the role individuals play in maintaining neighborhood and city cleanliness, the second session, with 10 women participants, addressed the importance of education, especially girls' education, as girls are powerful elements of change.
