
Under the slogan "Moving Forward Together, Women Educate and Inspire Generations", HUMAN ACCESS implemented a wide range of important activities on the occasion of International Women's Day, which falls on March 8 of each year, within the context of the project to provide livelihood services to the most vulnerable women and girls in Yemen, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
In Hadhramaut Governorate, an awareness session was held in the city of Mukalla, attended by 30 women. The session addressed success stories of pioneering women, and the importance of promoting rights and empowerment for all women and girls.
In the city of Seiyun, 14 women working in the health sector were honored to encourage women's work and enhance their role in sustainable development, in addition to conducting an awareness session, attended by 20 women, on the status and rights of women.
In Shabwa Governorate, five pioneering women who made inspiring contributions in the fields of education, guidance, and leadership were honored, in appreciation of their efforts in supporting women's rights.
A discussion session was also organized in the city of Ataq entitled "Preventing Women from Education", which emphasized the importance of education as an important tributary in the lives of women and girls.
In addition, symbolic gifts were given to workers in the project to provide livelihood services for the most vulnerable women and girls in Yemen, in appreciation of their continued support in the face of the challenges facing women's and girls' rights.
Brochures were also disseminated, and community awareness was implemented on International Women's Day, attended by 30 women, to emphasize the need to confront the increasing threats that hinder women's progress.
In Al-Mahrah Governorate, various awareness activities were organized in Al-Ghaydah city, addressing the importance of women and their important role in society, including a radio interview on a local radio station.
Dignity kits were also distributed to 40 women, and gifts were handed over to a number of women working in a local market, in addition to holding a discussion session to analyze the market and the major training needs for a feminist future in which no woman is left behind.
In Taiz Governorate, an awareness event was launched in Al-Qahirah district, attended by 40 women.
Success stories of distinguished women were also presented, and eight prominent women in volunteer work were honored for their role in removing restrictions that prevent women's development and participation in building society.
In Marib Governorate, a group of pioneering women in humanitarian work were honored in Al-Mujamma area.
During the honoring event, International Women's Day was introduced, emphasizing that women's rights are human rights, in addition to delivering dignity kits to the event’s participants who are survivors of social-based violence.
In Al-Jufaina area, an awareness session was held about International Women's Day, and dignity kits were also distributed to a number of women to improve the conditions of the most vulnerable and needy women in displacement camps, along with honoring three women volunteers from the protection committees in appreciation of their effective contribution to community projects to protect women's rights.
In Al-Rawda area and Al-Mil camps, awareness brochures were distributed, educational and recreational activities were implemented, and dignity kits were delivered to 15 beneficiaries.
Additionally, five women were honored who benefited from livelihood projects and were able to manage their own businesses.
In Al-Matar area, a group of inspiring women were also honored in volunteer work and entrepreneurship.
