A team from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) office in Marib Governorate and the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons’ Camps (ExU) visited the trainees in the Advanced Entrepreneurship Program, which is implemented by the Community Center for IDPs related to HUMAN ACCESS in the governorate, with funding from UNHCR.

During the visit, the UNHCR protection officer in Marib, Dr. Lawand Talal, praised this specially designed program, which he described as the first at the governorate level and based on previous assessments to improve livelihoods.

For his part, Dr. Khaled Al-Shajni, deputy director of the ExU, stressed the importance of this program, which allows trainees to transform their ideas into sustainable private ventures.

The training program aims to develop the skills of 16 entrepreneurs who have project ideas in various fields such as agriculture, services, trade, and productivity.

The theoretical and practical components of the program emphasize the skills necessary to manage projects, conduct feasibility studies for economic projects, and develop them for implementation.

The 16 beneficiary pioneers were selected from among dozens of applicants via an online link made available to everyone, based on specific and precise criteria.

Seven of the trained pioneers will later be selected to receive financial support to transform their ideas into special projects, within the framework of providing sustainable solutions to reduce the high rates of poverty and unemployment in Yemen.
