HUMAN ACCESS in Mukalla, Hadhramaut Governorate, welcomed Ms. Samia Bahmaish, Gender-Based Violence Sub-Cluster Coordinator at the UNFPA office in Aden, and Dr. Ahlam Bin Buraik, Reproductive Health Program Coordinator at the UNFPA office in Mukalla.
During the visit, the coordinators, Samia and Ahlam, learned about efforts to prevent and mitigate gender-based violence, as well as important health interventions to expand access to reproductive health services, saving lives and building a healthier future.
They heard the success story of a woman with special needs who received professional training in sewing and was then provided with the supplies to practice this income-generating craft, enabling her to enter the labor market to earn a living and become self-reliant. Bahmaish and Bin Buraik praised HUMAN ACCESS' efforts to support and protect women.
With funding from the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), HUMAN ACCESS is implementing a project to support reproductive health services, aiming to restore access to life-saving reproductive healthcare services. It is also implementing a project to provide livelihood services to the most vulnerable women and girls in Yemen, to build women's capacities to cope with crises.
