Training community networks to combat the negative effects of female genital mutilation
HUMAN ACCESS in Al-Mahra Governorate implemented a training program for community networks on the harmful phenomenon of female genital mutilation (FGM), within the project to combat FGM, funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
In the presence of the Deputy Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor office in Al-Mahra, Salem Sweilem, the training program addressed the importance of the role of community networks in raising community awareness regarding sexual mutilation of girls as a wrong practice that is deeply rooted in some social norms and leads to long-term negative physical, psychological, and social consequences.
