Taiz Governor Nabil Shamsan praised the humanitarian and relief efforts provided by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia through its humanitarian arm, the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), in supporting various humanitarian sectors that have contributed to alleviating the suffering of the governorate's residents.
This came during a field visit to Taiz Governorate to inspect the progress of work on drilling three water wells in Wadi Aman in the Al-Dhabab area, as part of a project to enhance safe and clean water sources sustainably for the residents of Taiz city, funded by the Center.
During his visit, the project's technical components and implementation phases were reviewed. The governor listened to an explanation from those in charge of the project regarding the production capacity of the three wells, which is approximately 50 cubic meters per hour. This will contribute to strengthening the water system and meeting the growing needs of the city's residents.
The governor emphasized the importance of this vital project, which represents a qualitative addition to the water sector in the governorate, and will help ease and improve level of basic services provided to the governorate's residents. It is worth noting that the project includes drilling three artesian wells, each with an average depth of 400 meters, equipping them with pumping units and their technical accessories, and providing them with integrated solar power systems to ensure continuous operation and reduce reliance on petroleum products.
Additionally, it includes supplying, installing, and operating solar power systems for three existing wells to enhance their efficiency.
The project also involves training technical staff at the local water corporation in Taiz on the management, operation, and maintenance of water systems to ensure service sustainability, along with implementing awareness campaigns for the local community on the rational use of water and protecting its sources from pollution.
