The HUMAN ACCESS Community Center for IDPs in Marib Governorate carried out a number of field services and activities in order to reduce the risks of gender-based violence against the displaced, targeting 825 displaced families in Al-Quoz and Al-Maidan camps in Marib city district, within the protection project, funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

The services involved the installation of 30 electric poles to light the two camps in an effort to provide a safer environment for women, girls and children residing there and to limit the factors contributing to the practice of behaviors that increase the risks of gender-based violence among the displaced.

The center also coordinated a field visit by a delegation from UNHCR in Marib, during which the delegation was briefed on the implemented activities and services delivered to displaced families in the two camps.

The delegation commended the HUMAN ACCESS efforts aimed at protecting the displaced, which focus on addressing the root causes of gender-based violence through the provision of important and fruitful services and activities.
