The Community Center for IDPs, operated by HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate, handed over 25 electric chairs and wheelchairs for people with special needs through a protection project funded by the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), to meet the essential needs of this vulnerable segment.
The handover process took place in the presence of the Director General of the Social Affairs and Labor office in the governorate, Abdulhakim Al-Qaisi, the Deputy Director of the Executive Unit for the Management of IDP Camps (ExU), Dr. Khaled Al-Shijni, and Director of the UNHCR Office in Marib, Peter Fitz-Morris.
During the handover, Al-Qaisi praised HUMAN ACCESS’ and UNHCR’s efforts in supporting this most vulnerable segment, stressing the importance of such humanitarian support for people with disabilities to alleviate their suffering, facilitate their movement and access to services, and improve their health condition.
