With the support of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate provided humanitarian assistance and organized an open day on the occasion of International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
This day is celebrated on December 3 of each year to raise awareness of disability issues and to mobilize support for inclusion of people with special needs.
In commemoration of this day, the association delivered a variety of support for the Quick Impact Project to support the Motion and Speech Rehabilitation Center for Children with Special Needs and People with Disabilities of the Elaf Charitable Development Foundation, in the presence of Dr. Abdulaziz Al-Shaddadi, Director General of the Public Health and Population Office in Marib and a number of local officials.
The support provided for this project consisted of a variety of furniture, tools and devices used in physiotherapy for people with special needs. It also included a mobilization and advocacy campaign for the center in order to ensure the sustainability of its free services for children with special needs and people with disabilities, both displaced and handicapped.
HUMAN ACCESS also organized an open day in the Maribland Park targeting children with disabilities, in the presence of the UNHCR team of Marib office, and a number of official bodies concerned with children.
The open day included recreational activities and psychological support in order to ensure that persons with disabilities are not left behind in times of crisis and beyond.
