The Community Center for IDPs, operated by HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate, organized an open day event for children with special needs, with funding from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR).

A variety of purposeful and interesting activities were planned to put smile on those children’s faces. This event was timed to coincide with the International Day of Persons with Disabilities on December 3, which promotes equality and support for disabled individuals around the world.

At the event, attended by 50 children with special needs and talents, Abdulhakim Al-Qaisi, Director General of the Social Affairs & Labor office in Marib, commended HUMAN ACCESS and UNHCR's interest in children with special needs as a weak segment of society in dire need of support, care, and attention, just as their fellow children, emphasizing the importance of focusing on this group to ensure its rights and needs are met.
