The impact of the escalation in Yemen has extended to the other side of the Bab al-Mandab Strait; approximately 3,000 people—including many women and children—have so far arrived in the Republic of Djibouti following a perilous sea crossing marked by extreme heat.

HUMAN ACCESS organization is working in coordination with relevant authorities in Djibouti to support newly arrived Yemeni families by providing immediate aid—including food, water, shelter, and other essential support—to ensure that much-needed assistance reaches those in need.

The organization has already begun delivering aid, distributing shelter materials and personal hygiene kits to 2,000 individuals (comprising 500 families) at the Obock Central Refugee Camp. These efforts aim to meet some of their basic needs and alleviate the suffering of those facing extremely difficult conditions.

In a press statement, Yahya Hasan Al-Daba, Head of HUMAN ACCESS, affirmed that the organization is continuing its emergency response despite challenging working conditions. He noted that available capacities are under immense strain and that there is an urgent need for additional resources as the influx of arrivals continues.
