Foundation Stone Laid for Emergency Department Construction at Kharaz Refugee Camp in Lahj Governorate-Yemen

In a significant step towards strengthening healthcare services for refugees and the host community, the foundation stone was laid today for the construction of an Emergency Department at the Kharaz Refugee Camp Health Center in Lahj Governorate. The project is being implemented by Human Access Society with funding from the Hungary Helps Agency.
The initiative aims to enhance the capacity and efficiency of emergency medical services, addressing urgent healthcare needs and improving the quality of life for approximately 9,000 camp residents, in addition to beneficiaries from nearby host communities.
During the ceremony, Dr. Ali Ahmed Hassan, Secretary-General of the Local Council for Al-Mudaraba and Ras Al-Arah District, expressed his appreciation for the efforts of Human Access Society and the support Hungary Helps Agency, emphasizing that the project represents a vital addition to improving public health and alleviating the suffering of refugees who face significant challenges in accessing essential medical care.
