With funding from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), the Community Center for IDPs, operated by HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate, launched 5 community spaces in Al-Suwayda, Al-Menin, Al-Muthanna, and Al-Nuqayaa camps in Al-Madina and Al-Wadi districts.
There were UNHCR representatives and members of the Executive Unit for the Management of IDP Camps present at the event in the governorate, which hosts most of the displacement camps despite harsh economic and environmental conditions.
As a result of the crisis in Yemen, community spaces provide displaced people with a safe environment, which enables them to improve their lives, enhance their social and psychological well-being, develop response approaches, and address protection risks in this most vulnerable group.
A safe space also strives to facilitate displaced people's integration into host communities so that they become resilient and able to regain hope far from their homes, as well as alleviate their bitterness over displacement.
