HUMAN ACCESS in the governorates of Shabwa and Marib has implemented various activities aimed at supporting and empowering Yemeni women and advancing their rights within the protection and livelihood support project "Safe Space for Women and Girls", funded by United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA).
In the city of Ataq, Shabwa, the safe space for women and girls resumed its awareness-raising activities by implementing community awareness sessions and psychological support for visitors to the space, addressing some negative social phenomena that women and girls suffer from in the governorate and how to reduce and mitigate their effects.
The safe space in Ataq had held its first meeting for the current year 2023, where the meeting appreciated the tremendous efforts made by the work team during the past year, urging the team members to show more dedication and work in a team spirit in order to fully achieve the goals of the project.
In Marib, the safe space in Al-Mujamma area organized community awareness targeting ninth-grade students at the Martyr Mohammad Hael School, titled Early Marriage.
As a way of raising awareness of the dangers of early marriage phenomenon, the event discussed its definition, its causes, and its effects on girls, families, and society.
