Coinciding with International Women’s Day, which falls on March 8 of each year, and in recognition of the contributions of Yemeni women and girls in all fields and their role in building society, HUMAN ACCESS, in partnership with the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA), carried out a number of events and activities through a safe space for women and girls in the governorates of Marib, Hadhramaut, Shabwa and Al-Mahra.

Awareness program in Mukalla on (Psychology of working women and their rights under the law)

It was implemented by the Protection and Livelihood Support Project (Safe Space for Women and Girls) in partnership with the Women's College of Hadhramout University in Mukalla.

The program touched on the importance of celebrating International Women's Day in appreciation of women's achievements in the economic, social and political aspects, introducing women's right to work in accordance with local and international laws, challenges and problems facing women in exercising their guaranteed rights, and proposed solutions, in addition to introducing safe space activities for women and girls.

The program contributed to sensitizing the public of the importance of women's participation in decision-making and enhancing their role in society.

Awareness sessions and various events for women in Marib Governorate

This awareness campaign was performed in Al-Wadi and Al-Madina districts of Marib Governorate. The campaign program included the opening of a sewing and tailoring training course, holding awareness and educational sessions on women's rights and empowering them economically in several areas, activating their role in society, in addition to honoring women figures who advocate for women's issues in appreciation of their efforts and sacrifices.

The program also featured video shows, entertainment and educational activities, and competitions.

 

Awareness lecture in Shabwa entitled: (What if Yemeni women lived without wars)

The lecture dealt with the suffering, dangers and effects that Yemeni women are exposed to as a result of the war, how to deal with cases of violence, the importance of paying attention to psychological aspects and resisting crises and psychological trauma. The lecture also addressed the phenomenon of girls dropping out of education and early marriage.

Awareness and education in Al-Mahra

The awareness program in Al-Ghaydah District included organizing awareness and educational sessions for female participants about school bullying, its definition, causes, forms, and its impact on threatening the safety of female students and the course of the teaching process, and ways to address this phenomenon.
