HUMAN ACCESS in Mukalla district involved in removing waste, opening main roads and international highways, and distributing water to those affected by rain and floods as a result of Cyclone Shaheen repercussions. The campaign targeted a number of main and international roads in the area of Al-Dis, Al-Shifa and Al-Ghalila in light of the urgent relief intervention plan.
The campaign also included removing piles of garbage accumulated in the streets, in coordination with the local authority in the city of Mukalla, and distributing water in the affected neighborhoods that suffer from water cuts during the last period. This phase, in addition, included the distribution of 350,000 liters of potable water and domestic-use water as a first phase in Fuwwah area and its suburbs.
The campaign is expected to last for a week to provide shelter, food and health interventions to the cyclone-affected families.
Eng. Adel Bakhaleh, director general of the Works and Roads Authority in Mukalla, praised the efforts of HUMAN ACCESS in rendering relief to those affected by rains and floods and its response to the call of local authority and human duty.
On his part, Eng. Nabil Bajri, a project specialist in HUMAN ACCESS, stated that the results of assessments and reports submitted by the relevant authorities require urgent intervention in the field of sanitation, fog spraying, and the accomplishment of preventive and health awareness campaigns for the community.
