A large segment of orphans in Yemen live in extreme poverty after losing the breadwinner, in conjunction with a sharp deterioration in the living and economic conditions and the lack of access to basic services in the country.
Therefore, HUMAN ACCESS seeks to alleviate the suffering of this segment, as it is one of the most vulnerable groups in society. This group is now more vulnerable than ever as the conflict continues, and has a right to protection and health.
In this context, HUMAN ACCESS in Hadhramaut Governorate concluded the medical camp for orphans "Restore my sight", which was held at the German Ophthalmology Center in the Consultative Tower Hospital in Mukalla, which lasted for 9 days.
87 orphans benefited from the eyes medical camp, where a free eye examination was conducted for them, along with the supply of eyeglasses for orphans with low vision, as well as the necessary treatments and medicines for the injured orphans.
In the closing ceremony, Mohammad Al Yahri, Director General of the Health Office in Mukalla, praised this qualitative camp that targets the orphan segment, while Fahmy Al Nahdi, Administrative Director of the German Ophthalmology Center, expressed his readiness to provide all aspects of cooperation for these pioneering charitable projects.
