The Community Center for IDPs of HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate, received a visiting team from the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), which included Mrs. Giulia Naboni, External Relations Officer in the Aden office, Peter Fitz, Director of the UNHCR office in Marib, and Abdulrahim Al-Ameri, Protection Assistant at the UNHCR Marib office.

The visiting delegation met with a number of women participating in training and rehabilitation activities within the economic empowerment programs implemented by the Community Center with the support of UNHCR, in order to identify and review success stories to present at the next donors' conference to draw the world's attention to the suffering of millions of Yemenis.

As she praised the exerted and fruitful efforts, Mrs. Giulia stressed how the beneficiaries have indeed been real success stories to be emulated by bringing Yemeni women from their painful reality into a world of hope with the acquisition of skills and self-reliance and an improvement in their living and economic conditions, which are the goals of empowerment programs.

In the presence of Mr. Lawnd Talal, UNHCR Marib office protection officer, the UNHCR team visited the child-friendly space in Al-Suwayda camp for IDPs operated by HUMAN ACCESS as part of the UNHCR protection project, which aims to create a child-centered environment that allows children to exercise their rights.

 

The visiting delegation met a number of beneficiary children and was briefed on the achievements and challenges.

Additionally, the team participated in the conclusion of a chess competition organized by the safe space for 10 children, honoring the first and second winners, and reviewing success stories for their participation in the donors' conference.

At the end of their visit, the delegation members praised the efforts exerted to develop children.
