HUMAN ACCESS in Marib Governorate arranged a set of purposeful activities within the protection and livelihood support project "Safe Space for Women and Girls", funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) and King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief) to raise Yemen’s women capacities and make a positive impact in society.
There were two focus group discussions took place at the safe space in Al-Jufaina area, the first attended by 19 beneficiaries in the area on training related to livelihoods for women and girls, and the second attended by 15 beneficiaries.
A key objective was to assess the impact of the protection project services on beneficiaries' lives, identify strengths to take advantage of and develop, and identify weaknesses that need to be addressed and avoided.
Additionally, three awareness sessions were held at the space, the first focused on basic steps to success while the second addressed divorce and its effects, the need for finding solutions to preserve marital relations, and avoiding divorce and its negative effects.
The third session focused on the social role of women, providing psychological support entitled "The Road to Happiness", family counseling, and introducing the safe space services.
In Al-Matar area, the safe space organized three awareness sessions, the first on time management and the importance of investing it, attended by 22 women, while the second was a community session and focused on complaints’ mechanism.
As part of the third session, participants discussed how taking care of one's appearance improves one's self-confidence and self-esteem, as well as their psychological well-being.
