The safe space for women and girls in Al-Jufaina area of Marib Governorate received Ghamdan Al-Qadi, coordinator of the gender-based violence sub-cluster of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) in Marib, who, during his inspection visit, praised the space’s activities and encouraged it to be more distinctive and creative.
The most recent activities of the safe space are the conduction of 3 awareness sessions. The first was about the foundations of mental health in the presence of 16 women, while the second was about the virtues of women's work and its economic role in supporting the family's livelihood, during which 18 women shared their personal experiences at work and its impact on their lives and status.
As for the third session, it discussed self-searching approaches and development, targeting a number of female visitors to the space.
In light of Yemen's difficult living conditions, HUMAN ACCESS supports and empowers Yemeni women, developing their capacities, and improving their well-being by implementing the project "Safe Space for Women and Girls" with UNFPA funding. Particularly, the poorest women and those living in fragile conditions are targeted.
