The training program to enhance nutrition through income-generating activities received the Director of the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) Office in Marib Governorate, Peter Fitz-Morris, and his accompanying delegation.

The delegation was briefed on the progress of this specific program and also met with a number of female beneficiaries who expressed their thanks for this program.

The trainees were encouraged by the visiting delegation to utilize the program to their fullest potential and become self-sufficient.

It is noteworthy that the program is implemented by HUMAN ACCESS' Community Center for IDPs and targets 25 women who own home-based baking businesses.

The purpose of the program is to improve their skills in manufacturing healthy products that are made from local raw materials like red wheat, millet, and barley, as well as to promote nutrition through developing productive activities that can lead to income improvement and sustainability.

The training program is conducted in collaboration with UNHCR and MotherFood, a Canadian organization dedicated to improving food quality, as part of Yemen's efforts to combat malnutrition.

The program particularly focuses on improving the nutritional status among pregnant women and children by providing healthy products with high nutritional value and affordable prices.

Additionally, the program teaches participants life and management skills that will help them develop and expand their own projects and provide new health products.

At the end of the program, the trainees will receive tools and equipment to help them develop health products and diversify their current product line, as well as assistance with consultations to boost their economic sustainability.
